About three years ago, a new community formed on Reddit. A community of people claimed that Trivial Pursuit Switch cheated them. The player with the lower score and fewer wedges often got first place. You can imagine the reaction of the other players! They were fuming, and rightfully so.
Soon players realized that they were not alone. A Reddit thread detailing the experience of one couple brought together other victims of this glitch. They were looking for an answer to the question: Why does the winner keep losing? Unfortunately, no answer came. We have taken it upon ourselves to research the issue and find out what’s really going on. Come along on the journey with us!
Yes, It’s a Bug
Before we dive into the reasons why your Nintendo may select the wrong winner in Trivial Pursuit Switch or what you can do about it, we need to address one thing. It is a bug. Usually, bugs happen when there is a mistake in the code. Nintendo and Ubisoft, the developer of the game, are hugely successful platforms with hundreds of games. It is very easy to make a silly mistake and let it go unnoticed.
Though it may be frustrating, you need to accept that the game is not trying to trick you. This glitch still hasn’t been addressed by the Nintendo or Ubisoft team. Hopefully, they can get it fixed in no time as soon as they notice the pattern users are talking about on Reddit and Amazon.
How to Fix It?
We reached out to Nintendo and Ubisoft to solve the problem of the game picking the wrong winner. Unfortunately, we did not hear back from either brand.
Visit their official website if you’d like to try your luck connecting with Nintendo’s customer support. You can chat with a bot online if you have a simple and fairly common issue. For more serious issues, check out the text message feature. Reach out to Nintendo by phone if the matter you want to discuss is time-sensitive. Remember that Nintendo customer support has its opening hours, between 6 am and 7 pm PT. If you want to work on an issue outside of those hours, you can submit a help ticket by email. Unfortunately, the number of topics you can submit a ticket about is very limited.
Another company you can reach out to is Ubisoft—the developer of the game. Access their website and find a way to send them your question. It appears that both Ubisoft and Nintendo are reluctant to reply to customer queries about their products. The first option they offer is always customer forums with frequently asked questions and discussions.
If you’re really keen on getting an answer, you can try to reach out to them publicly via social media. Get enough attention from the public, and it’ll be difficult for the companies to ignore you. Whichever way you decide to reach out to customer support, we sure hope you’re more successful than we were! Please share any answer you get with your fellow players and us if you manage to reach them.
Final Words
Playing Trivial Pursuit on your Nintendo Switch can be a fun experience. Of course, nobody likes losing, especially by accident. Picking the wrong winner is a known glitch in the game. At the moment, we don’t have a solution to this problem. At the very least, you can feel content knowing that you’re not the only one who has fallen victim to this unfortunate error!
Switch users, have you ever encountered this error? Did you find a way to fix it?
