Has your fun game of Trivial Pursuit ever been interrupted by a lack of gaming pieces? If so, then you can confirm that it’s the most annoying thing ever! Sure, you probably have other dice at home and you can buy them at any board game store, but don’t even bother trying to replace the cheese with household items!
Luckily, a lost wedge doesn’t mean you need to buy a whole new game. You can still make use of your board and question cards. All you need to do is buy a replacement piece. There is a wide variety of online and brick and mortar stores that sell replacement pieces for Trivial Pursuit. If you are a little lost and don’t know where to start, here is an overview of all the places offering replacement pieces, online and offline!
Trivial Pursuit replacement pieces
Trivial Pursuit is an excellent board game that is loved by adults and children alike. The game has gained popularity all over the world and is now enjoyed in many countries. A master game set consists of the following pieces:
- Question cards with trivia questions split among 6 categories
- A game board
- A die
- 6 Trivial Pursuit wheels with wedges, otherwise known as cheese
Trivial Pursuit has been enjoying success as a franchise for many, many years. Several editions have come out, one better than last (usually). With new editions come changes, and they reflect on game pieces too. Bite-sized packs, for instance, come with question cards and a die, but none of the famous so-called cheese.
Special editions, such as the newest Trivial Pursuit Netflix’s Stranger Things Back to the 80s Edition, have special themed game boards. The aforementioned edition’s game board can take you to the show’s Upside Down! Most parts of the game can be replaced, but it will be more difficult to find a replacement for special collectors’ editions.
Trivial Pursuit wedges
The most intriguing and unique Trivial Pursuit playing piece, also known as a pie, is a circle with 6 wedges inside. The wedges are also referred to as cheese, as they look like tiny pieces of delicious cheese. Together, the whole piece looks like a pie, with one wedge representing one piece.
There are usually 6 pies in one master game set, which allows for up to 6 players or teams. The winner is the team or individual that manages to fill their pie the quickest. It’s all fun and games until you lose a piece of the pie! Not to worry, you can easily find a replacement piece.
If you’ve misplaced one of the wedges, you likely won’t be able to just buy one piece to replace it. However, you can purchase a whole new set of 6 wheels, which is just as great! Here are some places to get you started on your search.
Online third party sellers

Some of the packs sold on Ebay don’t come with extra dice, but you can easily find it in your local bookshop or game store. You can also find replacement pieces in bulk that you probably wouldn’t be able to find on Amazon. It’s important to note that Ebay works with different sellers, so you need to be careful and check their credentials before buying.

Trivial Pursuit subsidiary card sets
Cheese is not the only thing that can get lost after a heated game of trivia. You can easily misplace question cards too. You probably wouldn’t even notice if you lost a question card, but they add up. Luckily, there’s an easy solution, and a fun one too! You can purchase subsidiary card sets.
Trivial Pursuit offers a wide variety of subsidiary card sets. Those come with nothing but question cards. You can pick an edition that you like, such as Trivial Pursuit Game Show Edition or Trivial Pursuit Know-It-All, and buy that set of questions. Genus editions also offer sets of cards for sale. That’s a great idea for those who prefer general knowledge questions to more specific and niche ones. When the time comes, you know you won’t be left with no question cards to play with!
Let the game continue!
Game pieces often get misplaced; that’s a part of life. Unless you lose or ruin the actual game board, there is no reason for you to invest in a whole new game set (unless you really want to). In fact, you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your bed! You can order replacement game pieces or new card sets on the internet. Use Amazon for express shipping, or explore Ebay for cheaper options. Either way, the game must go on!

I know this is less fun, but you could just print out a checklist and use that to track everyone’s wedges. Or you could check out some of the places in this article to buy replacement parts.
But the game isn’t useless! You could just use the questions alone, too.
