If you’ve been in the world of trivia games for a while, you’re surely familiar with Trivia Crack. Trivia Crack is a trivia game app for Android and Apple users. The game was built on the concept popularized by the iconic board game Trivial Pursuit. Players get to answer questions in six classic categories and collect tokens. To win, you have to be the first one to collect all six tokens.
In most cases, you don’t have to be a genius to play. Trivia Crack is a simplified version of Trivial Pursuit. It was made for people of all ages, including children from the age of 13. The game is not meant to educate you; rather, it is a form of entertainment for everyone. One aspect that makes the game so unique is user contributions. Players are encouraged to submit their own trivia questions. As a result, Trivia Crack never runs out of questions.
Since repeating questions are a big problem with other games (especially board games), Trivia Crack quickly capitalized on user contributions and unlimited questions. The success of Trivia Crack allowed Etermax to develop more similar games, like Trivia Crack 2 and Trivia Crack Adventure. Not all of them are trivia-specific, but they all have that signature Trivia Crack look. That’s how Trivia Crack Kingdoms came to life!
Trivia Crack Kingdoms followed the model of Trivia Crack, but with its own unique twist. Instead of varying general knowledge questions that we’re so used to, this game introduced the concept of “kingdoms.” Each kingdom was basically a channel with its own game topic. Users were introduced to topics beyond the classic six, like celebrities, Game of Thrones, and Breaking Bad, to name a few. This new feature allowed users to quite literally pick their battles and do what they’re best at.
You could play against strangers or friends in real time, in true Trivia Crack fashion. Once you selected the subject, there was no going back. One wrong answer and the game was over. This format was reminiscent of live trivia games like HQ Trivia. Down the line, something went wrong. A few months ago, users started reporting the app being deleted from their devices or showing error messages whenever they wanted to play. Let’s investigate and see what happened to the seemingly successful game Trivia Crack Kingdoms!
Why Was Trivia Crack Kingdoms Removed from the App Store?
A few months ago, users started having troubles with the app. Some people couldn’t download the game, as it was removed from the App Store. Others were saying that the game was showing error messages whenever they opened the app to play. In short, nobody seemed to be able to play Trivia Crack Kingdoms. What made the situation even more confusing was Etermax’s response, or lack thereof. The company did not address the rumors regarding Trivia Crack Kingdoms shutting down. The developers didn’t comment on the bugs and issues so many players were experiencing. No official announcement went out to tell us what was going on.
To this day, Etermax has not spoken about Trivia Crack Kingdoms. If you visit the official website of the game, you will find that it is still active, with links to download the game. The Twitter account of the game, however, has not posted anything since 2018. Could that mark the date the company gave up on Trivia Crack Kingdoms?
Since there is no official message that we can dissect, we can only assume and create our own theories about the fall of Trivia Crack Kingdoms. One of the most popular theories is related to money and cash flow in the company. Perhaps Trivia Crack Kingdoms was not a commercially successful project, leading to its discontinuation. The developers could not afford to keep pumping money into app maintenance anymore, so they decided to take it off the App Store. Disclaimer: this is just a theory and we are not claiming that it is factual!
What’s your theory? Why do you think Trivia Crack Kingdoms mysteriously disappeared from the App Store? Did you experience the fall of the game yourself? Please share your thoughts and experiences with us in the comments!
When Was it Discontinued?
It was approximately 10 months ago when players started to get worried. A Reddit user asked this question and didn’t get a definitive response from anyone. It seems that just a year ago the app was still up and running. It is unclear what happened in the few months when the app disappeared from the App Store. Someone suggested that the app might only be available in the UK now, but that hasn’t been confirmed. No other conversations about the disappearance of Trivia Crack Kingdoms were initiated on Reddit.
Another website that offered solutions and fixes to some common troubles Trivia Crack Kingdoms players were having, featured a comment section from Facebook. In the comments, people were complaining about getting the error messages “Unexpected error has occurred” or “Servers not working.” One user mentioned that Trivia Crack Kingdoms was deleted from their device and they could no longer find it in the App Store. All of that happened online two months ago!
We don’t know what exactly happened, but one thing is for sure. Trivia Crack Kingdoms is gone! Is the app gone for good, or are the developers just taking a break to improve the gaming experience? Whatever it is, why don’t they share their insight with the players? We hope to get the answers to our questions soon!
What Was Good About Trivia Crack Kingdoms?
The classic graphics and gameplay is what makes Trivia Crack such a great game. If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it, right? Trivia Crack spin-offs don’t need much of a makeover in that sense, as the original concept is a very successful one already. What was so special about Trivia Crack Kingdoms was the kingdoms element. In this game, the developers managed to extract the original idea of Trivia Crack and put a spin on it. This way, we ended up with trivia channels, or kingdoms.
Each kingdom signified a trivia topic. Players could create their own kingdoms or join already existing channels. One of the main downsides of playing a game like Trivia Crack is that you’re probably not great at all the categories. If you enjoy Literature and Art, Science and Sports are probably not your strong suits. Unless you use power ups, you cannot avoid answering questions in other categories. It didn’t necessarily soil the gaming experience, but it did make it a bit more difficult.
In Kingdoms, you could pick one category and stick to it for a whole game. If you only like Sports, then you don’t have to answer questions in any other categories! To make it more fun, super specific categories were introduced. Players were able to nerd out about their favorite TV series, books, movies, and more. That’s what made the game so special. It was a safe haven where trivia lovers with different interests could come together. There was something for everyone.
What Didn’t Work So Well?
The game was very buggy right from the beginning. That made the playing experience significantly worse. Players couldn’t enjoy Trivia Crack Kingdoms because there were too many bugs, the game took a while to load, it was glitchy, and the whole experience was quite frustrating. It got to the point where players weren’t getting what they paid for, their lives were cut in half, and the game would just turn off. No matter how great the concept is, if the game is too glitchy to play, it’s not a good game.
In addition to the bugs and glitches, some users have reported inadequate questions. According to reviews, some of the questions were way too obscure to enjoy. Some obscure questions are to be expected with such specific categories, but it’s important to remember that the purpose of the game is entertainment. You can’t pay attention to every single detail of a TV series, no matter how many times you’ve seen it. If the questions are impossible to answer, what’s the fun in that? That is especially so for the younger players who need to get some encouragement to keep playing.
One last thing that wasn’t great is something we are all too familiar with when playing Trivia Crack. Yes, it’s the ads! The unskippable ads soil the experience regardless of what the game is. With Trivia Crack, it got to the point where you can’t get a question wrong without having to watch a 30-second video. This really bothers a lot of people. Many have stopped playing altogether because of the ads. We understand that Etermax has to make money and the most convenient way to do that is through ads. The company created another app called Trivia Crack (No Ads) for those who really can’t take the ads, but don’t want to stop playing. To download the game, you need to pay a small sum in the beginning. You can then enjoy Trivia Crack with no ads at all!
Alternatives: What Could I Play Instead?
Lucky for us, Trivia Crack Kingdoms is not the only game of its kind. Etermax has a whole series of similar games that you can play. Let’s start with the obvious one—Trivia Crack. Yes, Trivia Crack doesn’t give you the option to pick and choose your battles, but it can win you over with other features. For example, you can choose from a number of game modes and daily challenges. With all the updates the game gets, it can hardly get boring. Plus, remember that there is a constant inflow of new questions, so you’ll never run out. If the day comes and Trivia Crack finally gets boring, download Trivia Crack 2! It is basically the same game built on the same exact concept, but the game modes are different.
Those two are not the only good games from Etermax. If you enjoy Trivia Crack, check out all the other games from the same developers. Those include Word Crack Mix 2, Words & Ladders, Topic Twister, Triviatopia Run, and more. Contrary to popular belief, 2020 was a very fruitful year for Etermax. While many people were staying home due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the developers in Etermax were working on new games. Some were more successful than others, but you can try them all in the App Store or Google Play. Trivia Cars, for example, is one of the more popular new games by the developers of Trivia Crack.
One of the most popular Etermax games is Trivia Crack Adventure. Trivia Crack Adventure is reminiscent of a classic trivia board game that you would find under the Christmas tree as a kid or play with your friends in middle school. The developers combined the unique design and elements of Trivia Crack with the idea of a board game. In the game, you get to select a pawn to play with, and move across the board to get to the top. Avoid traps and beat your competitor Willy to the crown. Answer trivia questions correctly to move along the board, but remember, you only get a few seconds per question!
Of course, Etermax is not the only company that makes trivia game apps. If you’re tired of the Trivia Crack look, move on to something more exciting and new. One popular alternative to Trivia Crack that you’ll see everywhere is Trivia 360. Unlike Trivia Crack, Trivia 360 is an offline trivia game that allows you to pick your categories. Much like Trivia Crack Kingdoms, you can choose what topics you want to answer questions in. That can make the game a lot more fun, so keep that in mind. Since the game is offline, you won’t get a chance to play against strangers and friends in real time. If that’s a deal breaker, you might want to look for another game. Some people prefer playing against the clock or a computer though. If you are one of those people, this game is for you. Trivia 360 has a major competitive advantage over Trivia Crack games because it doesn’t have a crazy amount of ads. You will still see some ads, but they won’t be as long and frequent as in Trivia Crack.
Quizoid is another offline trivia game app. There are a number of reasons why you might prefer Quizoid over Trivia Crack games. For starters, Quizoid offers more challenging questions. Most games in the Trivia Crack series make it a point to offer simple questions. After all, there are kids playing! The company needs to accommodate them as well. If you’ve grown bored of Trivia Crack and need a challenge, Quizoid is perfect for you. The game has more than 15 categories to play with, which is more than enough (and certainly more than six, which is what Trivia Crack usually offers). Sure, you won’t find super specific niche categories with questions about your favorite TV series, but it’s fun anyway. If you splurge on a Pro membership, you can even pick your category for every game, much like in Trivia Crack Kingdoms.
Final Words
The reason for the disappearance of Trivia Crack Kingdoms is still shrouded in mystery. We hope to uncover it one day, but for now, all we can do is hope for new and better games to come out. Etermax is an immensely successful and creative company that still has a lot in store for us. We don’t doubt that an excellent alternative to Trivia Crack Kingdoms will be launched in the near future. For now, let’s talk about the games that are currently available in the App Store and Google Play! (Like Trivia Crack, which isn’t going anywhere any time soon!) Or Trivia Crack Payday, which allows users to win money for being good at trivia! What is your favorite Etermax game and why?
Tell us about your experience with Trivia Crack Kingdoms. Have you ever played it? Were you there when it disappeared? We’re looking forward to reading about your experiences in the comments!

Thank you! This was so helpful!! Trivia Crack Kingdoms got me through my PhD and was a wonderful connection medium during the start of my long-distance relationship and eventual marriage (two children now!). I was heartbroken to see it gone. I’ll give Trivia Crack No Ads a try, but I will definitely miss the kingdoms/channels. Thank you!!
