How to Change and Update Your Account on Trivia Crack

Since you are on this site, you’re probably one of those people who gets a rush from answering trivia questions (correctly, obviously). 

And you’re competitive, so you ESPECIALLY love to play against other people… and win!

But your friends are not always into competing with you. Maybe they like, like, going outside to enjoy nature or reading instead? Weird.

Luckily, competing against strangers and feeling smug about winning has some pretty strong appeal, too, and trivia apps can scratch that competitive itch, whether you’re alone or with a group of like-minded individuals. Or maybe you’re a normal person who just wants to get better at trivia so that you won’t feel so embarrassed at quiz night. That’s fine, too!

But, sometimes, trivia apps are frustrating for reasons other than question difficulty (or ease).

Perhaps the gameplay is needlessly complicated, when all you really want is to answer questions. Perhaps you’re tired of the repetitiveness of the games you’ve been playing (ahem, HQ’s Daily Challenges). Or, perhaps you’ve been playing a certain app which is pretty darned fun, but you are getting frustrated with some of the admin.

Is it the latter? Is the app Trivia Crack? Maybe we can help!

(Well, at least with some of it, cause the game makers at Etermax sure don’t make it easy!)

Why Can’t I Change My Trivia Crack Username?

Oh, but you can! At least, I did!

It’s not super tricky (unlike some other things in the game—keep reading), but may not be super obvious.

1. Click that hamburger menu in the top right corner.

2. Click the wee ‘View profile’ button, and you’ll get to a page that looks like this (but with a different profile picture, probably).

3. Click ‘Edit,’ and you’ll end up on your Account page.

4. Click the field (yes, it’s a field, not just a static bit of information!) where your username is and delete/type what you want.

5. Click save, et voilà!

(It was meant to be MeganTheAdequate, but apparently upper-case letters are not allowed.)

Can You Change Your Trivia Crack Adventure Username?

Nope. Why? I haven’t a clue, but as of this spring, at least, it is not changeable, so you’d better hope that their randomly assigned one isn’t too heinous. Keep in mind, this is specifically for Trivia Crack Adventure, one of the many versions of the Trivia Crack games.

(But seriously, why can you change in one and not the other? This one’s so boring! Argh!)

What if My Trivia Crack Username is Invalid?

Weirdly enough, there are other Megans playing the game???? 

I mean, Trivia Crack‘s only been around for eight years, so what the hell, right?

Anyway, there is an OG Megan who got that username, so I wasn’t allowed to use it. It just asked me to use something else.

If you’re trying to get obscene, hrm, I didn’t try anything ruder than Assman (I mean, if it’s good enough for a (fictional) licence plate…), which was already in use, so I guess that mild swears are OK.

But, also, don’t be gross on games with people you don’t know/don’t know well? It’s, well, gross. And definitely not funny to everyone.  Be respectful, even in the cut-throat world of trivia!

How Do You Change Your Profile Picture on Trivia Crack if You Don’t Have Facebook?

You don’t?

If my various searches into dubious Q&A sites I’ve never heard of (and, of course, Reddit), it MAY be possible, but only with some potentially sketchy logins and downloads to get around the limitation. Which is a real drag as more people a) are wary of linking Facebook to other apps for both safety and security reasons

and b) are abandoning Facebook entirely. 

I did find and watch one short, wordless video showing how you can change your profile picture… to another randomly generated in-game one, if that’s your jam. (It is not mine, though. My avatar is like if Charlie Brown’s shirt had a face? But cute? So I’ll keep it.) 

Basically, if you change your username, your avatar may change, but you don’t have a choice of what the app throws at you.

Can You Delete Your Trivia Crack Account?

You can.

Well, not YOU exactly.

Infuriatingly, you have to reach out via the game maker’s community forum!

Etermax doesn’t want to make it easy, so you have to start a new topic, or reply to someone else who has asked about deleting their account, and they will email you about it (allegedly). Le sigh.

How Do I Uninstall and Reinstall Trivia Crack?

Finally! An easy question!

I use an Android phone, so I just did the usual long-hold of the icon until the ‘Uninstall’ option showed up, clicked it, and poof! Gone.

Then I went straight to the Play Store to redownload. My progress was saved, even though I hadn’t yet saved a password. Eek.

So there you have it; some things that seem tricky about the game settings are not, and other things that seem tricky DEFINITELY ARE. 

But Trivia Crack and Trivia Crack Adventure are pretty fun? I had never played until I was asked to write this piece, and, really, the lack of customizability for non-FBers is fairly minor; the lack of ability to delete your account is more problematic, so if you’re really concerned about privacy, it might be a good idea to use a burner address to try the game out.
