Presidential IQ Trivia Card Game

No products found.

Our number one recommendation for a fun, president-related trivia resource is this No products found.. It’s got over 1200 questions from six different categories—geography, government, American history, presidential trivia, famous quotes, and foreign affairs—that are sure to keep players’ minds racing as they shuffle from card to card. Each card reads a little like a Trivial Pursuit card—there’s one question per category on each, with the answers on the card’s backside.

Each category features questions of three difficulty levels, and players must roll a die to determine whether they must answer an easier or harder question. Correct answers earn players IQ points (hence the name of the game) that they accumulate as they go. Once a player reaches 200 IQ points, the game concludes, and they are declared the winner.

No products found. is a trickier one, so it’s more appropriate for older teenagers and adults. It can be played with as few as two people, but don’t let that deter you from breaking it out at a bigger gathering! Teachers can use it in a high school U.S. History class as an engaging learning tool. Alternatively, adults (over 21, please!) can use this deck of cards during a drinking game. If you’re playing in one of these situations, it’s a good idea to split the group into a few teams to allow for speedier gameplay—otherwise, you may be stuck in the game for a long while as you wait for one player to accrue 200 points.

Professor Noggin’s Presidents of the United States Trivia Card Game

Presidents of the United States Trivia Card Game

If you’re looking for a simpler trivia game, Professor Noggin’s Presidents of the United States trivia card game may be the one for you. This game hinges on a simple premise: pick a card, roll a three-sided die to determine what question you’ll answer, and wrack your brain to try to answer the question at hand.

There are two sections on each president card: a “Student” side and a “Scholar” side. Each of the sections features three questions. The “Student” questions are more straightforward and common knowledge, so younger children will more likely be able to answer them. Alternatively, the “Scholar” questions have less obvious answers and can be used as an extra challenge. Some questions are open-ended, and others are true or false, but it’s luck of the draw (or, rather, luck of the die) as to which one you’ll get a chance to answer.

Professor Noggin’s series of games are all geared towards kiddos, so this Presidents of the United States trivia card game is best suited for a classroom or a family setting. However, the “Scholar” questions may be tricky for both adults and kids, so don’t write the game off too soon! The version we’ve linked only covers trivia regarding the first 44 presidents, but we’ll be looking for an updated version soon. This game allows two to eight players to participate, so if you’ve got more folks than that, ask them to pair up or split the group into bigger teams.

Guess That President

Box for Guess That President card game. Features a drawing of Abraham Lincoln and George Washington thinking.
Source

Guess That President is a unique card game made for kids to learn more about our nation’s history. It uses cute graphics and fun fonts to make its cards extra engaging for young learners (and for adults, too!).

Players take turns guessing which president is being described in an anonymous statement of fact to participate in this game. They can take advantage of two “cheat-sheet”-esque reference cards that list each president’s time in office, term lengths, and dates that they participated in a war. If players guess correctly, they get to keep that president’s card for themselves. The first player to collect five cards wins the game.

If you’d like to extend the game for even more American history trivia fun, you can ask players to collect a higher quantity of cards to win, depending on how many folks are playing. One can also play this game individually by covering over the presidents’ cartoon headshots on each card and quizzing themselves on the facts listed.

This game is centered around fun facts about each president’s lives. In other words, playing this card game makes you less likely to be quizzed on hard-hitting moments from one’s presidency. Since it’s geared towards kids, Guess That President intended to bring some levity and humanity to what can quickly turn into a dark and heavy topic. American history isn’t always pretty, after all.

The Smithsonian Book of Presidential Trivia

Smithsonian Book of Presidential Trivia

In America, there are few institutions more trusted than the Smithsonian, so why not purchase The Smithsonian Book of Presidential Trivia? It’s got 11 chapters of information running the gamut from “The Perpetual Podium” to “Presidents in the Popular Imagination”—you’ll get the full picture of every president when you flip through this book.

Yes, this is a book of trivia, and not a trivia game specifically, but it’s easy to use The Smithsonian Book of Presidential Trivia to make your own game. You can use its trivia tidbits to make a Jeopardy-esque setup or even simply pass the book back and forth amongst players to quiz each other.

The Smithsonian Book of Presidential Trivia is thorough—it was updated in 2021, and will continue to be revised as new American history is written. It covers the good, the bad, and the ugly regarding every U.S. president to give readers a full look at their nation’s history. This helps to humanize the presidents and provide an objective perspective about the lives and actions of each one.

The Big Book of Presidential Trivia

The Big Book of Presidential Trivia

If a trivia book sounds like a good alternative to a card game for you, you can also check out The Big Book of Presidential Trivia. Like The Smithsonian Book of Presidential Trivia, this book is exceedingly comprehensive—it contains over 1000 questions about our nation’s presidents. Turn The Big Book of Presidential Trivia into a game by switching off reading quiz questions with a friend or two. As an alternative, you can write down individual questions on flashcards and pass them back and forth amongst the group.

Because there are no cards involved, this book is perfect for providing entertainment while traveling. Whether you’re on a windy road trip or a turbulent plane, The Big Book of Presidential Trivia can be a handy learning tool that encourages keeping U.S. history on the brain.
