Jeopardy! Playshow is similar to the popular Jeopardy! World Tour, but it’s played on a bigger scale. The game is played on TV! You can play using your PS4, Xbox One, Windows 10, AppleTV, Amazon fireTV, AndroidTV, or Sony Bravia. But don’t tuck your phone away just yet! It can be a useful tool in this authentic game show experience.
Playshow does everything to make you feel as though you’re a real Jeopardy! contestant. The game uses real Jeopardy! episodes that were hosted by Alex Trebek. He will also host you when you compete against your friends and the game’s contestants. You can be skeptical, but hearing Alex Trebek tell you you’re doing a great job from your TV screen is an awesome feeling.
There are different game modes. Let’s start with a classic—Tournament of Champions. In the Tournament of Champions, you can meet some of the most iconic Jeopardy contestants in an epic face-off. The Best of the 80s gives us a hefty dose of nostalgia. But, instead of simply answering 80s-themed questions, you get to travel back in time and experience Jeopardy! episodes from the 80s! Answer questions and meet awesome contestants from the past.
There is a special Teen Tournament for the younger players. Don’t think the questions are any easier than those in the main Jeopardy! segment; they are not. And, if you’re still not tired of Jeopardy!, you will enjoy the Road to the All-Star Games. This section has episodes about some of the best Jeopardy! contestants and their journeys to that famous stage. They will give you tips and tricks on perfecting your craft and answer clues skillfully.
The best way to play is with friends or family gathered around the TV, patiently waiting for Alex Trebek to read out clues. Download the app on your phone and use the buzzer to signal your readiness to answer. The game will turn your phone into a receiver, listening to and judging your answers. This clever combination of voice recognition technology, a big screen, and a real-life game makes for an incredible Jeopardy! experience. There’s nothing quite like getting together with friends and playing a game. If you’re not interested in board games but still crave that type of community, this game might be perfect for you.
Jeopardy! World Tour
Jeopardy! World Tour is a game app that can be downloaded on Apple and Android mobile devices. If you’re only going to know one game on this list, it’ll probably be this one. The app is free to download, and it offers in-app purchases.
The game is not so different from what you see on your TV screen. Only this time, you are one of the contestants! With Alex Trebek as the host, this game is the ultimate throwback to the good old days. You can play with your friends and strangers all over the world. Win more games and climb the global leaderboard. It is guaranteed that you will not win even $1000, but you can certainly become the best in your country and in the world!
In true Jeopardy! fashion, the game lets you choose from categories with unusual names. With thousands of questions, you will not get bored of playing. Much like with other trivia games these days, there is a lot of controversy and theories about the games’ results being predetermined, the app is populated with bots and more. Don’t let any of that ruin your fun. Negative comments shouldn’t stop you from playing if you find the game enjoyable.
According to the Jeopardy! website, which we consider a reliable source, there is a sixth clue written for every category on the show. For whatever reason, we never get to see it. What if we told you there was a special place all the sixths clues went? J!6 might be the answer.
Despite the intriguing slogan, “Six clues. Six categories. Three ways to play,” we still don’t know what to expect. J!6 is conveniently located on the Jeopardy! website, but you can use Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa to play if you don’t want to use your hands. You can play a quick game as a guest or sign in to track your score. On any given weekday, you will find six regular clues and six Final Jeopardy! clues in the game. The clues are the ones that were not used in that day’s episode.
For each question, you get to choose from three potential answers. The game is timed, but it doesn’t really matter how long you take. The worst thing that can happen is that you can miss a question if you take too long. If you must step away from your device for a moment, simply pause the game. There are 12 questions, so it won’t take long to get through the game. The good thing is that there is a new set of clues every weekday, and it’s a terrific way to brush up on your skills if you’re planning on ever trying out for the game show (and many former contestants will agree with this)!
Infinite Final Jeopardy!
Sometimes Final Jeopardy! just hits different. The clues can be especially challenging, which is exciting for die-hard trivia fans. There is a page on the Jeopardy! website that has a never-ending stream of Final Jeopardy! questions. Well, since Infinite Final Jeopardy! only uses clues that have been seen on the show, I suppose the stream isn’t infinite, but you’ll have to try really hard to reach the end.
There is nothing to the game but a stream of questions. First, you’ll see the name of the category. Then the timer will start, and you’ll see the question. You get a couple of seconds to name your answer until the correct answer is revealed on the screen. Speed up the process by pressing the yellow arrow in the bottom right corner. As a bonus, you get to know which year each clue aired. The only drawback of this format is that there is no logical ending, so you might keep playing for a long time.
Jeopardy! Video Game
If you prefer to get your dose of Jeopardy! in video game format, then Jeopardy! Video Game might be the perfect solution. This game is available on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Amazon sells it in a bundle with Wheel of Fortune. The gameplay is quite similar to Jeopardy! Playshow and Jeopardy! World Tour, as well as the regular Jeopardy! TV game show we all know and love. Answer questions in exciting categories and win points throughout the game.
